This policy explains how QS Foundation for Social Welfare (“we”, “us”), which operates Sadaqah Support (sadaqahsupport.com), collects, uses and protects personal information. We handle personal data in line with Indian law, including the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023.
Information we collect
- Donors who report a donation: name, WhatsApp number and/or email, donation amount, payment date, UPI or bank reference number (UTR) and, if you choose to upload one, a payment screenshot.
- Donor accounts (optional): name, email, WhatsApp number, username, password (stored encrypted) and preferred language. If you sign in with Google, we receive only your name and email address from Google.
- Trusts: organisation details, registration number, PAN, address, contact person, mobile and WhatsApp numbers, email, registration documents, and bank or UPI details.
- Website use: basic technical data such as IP address, browser type and pages visited. To protect against misuse we keep a scrambled (hashed) form of the IP address with each donation report.
How we use it
- To pass your donation report to the trust you paid, so the trust can confirm it against its bank statement.
- To send you updates about your donation by email or WhatsApp, and one-time login or verification codes.
- To verify trusts before they are listed, and to show their public contact details.
- To show donors their donation history in their account.
- To prevent fraud and misuse, for example by limiting repeated reports and blocking details linked to reports that trusts mark as fake.
- To keep the website secure and answer enquiries.
What is shown publicly
For listed trusts, the trust name, registration number, address, website, mobile number, WhatsApp number and email are shown on the trust’s public page so donors can contact them. Donor details are never shown publicly.
Payments
Donations to trusts are paid through your own UPI app or bank, directly to the trust. We never see or store your UPI PIN, card or net-banking details. Payment screenshots you upload are stored privately and can only be seen by the trust concerned and our administrators.
Sharing
We do not sell your personal data. We share it only with: the trust you reported a donation to; service providers who help run the website (website hosting, email delivery, and Google if you choose to sign in with Google); or where required by law.
Cookies and your device
We use cookies needed for login and security. Your chosen language and light or dark display setting are remembered in your own browser. We do not use advertising cookies.
Your rights
You may ask to access, correct or delete your personal data, or withdraw consent, by emailing admin@sadaqahsupport.com. Some records, such as donation reports, may need to be kept to meet legal and accounting requirements.
Security and retention
We use reasonable security measures, including encrypted connections (https) and private storage for documents and screenshots. We keep data only as long as needed for the purposes above or as required by law.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top shows when it was last changed.
